5 Most Successful Personalities Passed Out From J.N.U
From the last few years many politicians and so called "Budhi Jivi" have tried almost every possible way to accuse the students of JNU of sedition & anti-nationalism, and they are still on with it. In the middle of this Kabbadi being played all around JNU, we also got to know the exact counting of cigarette butts & condoms found in JNU campus each morning and that students of Jawaharlal Nehru University are responsible for most of the rape cases in Delhi.
Apart from this the arguments on this Prestigious Institution are rising day by day. From my opinion just because of one student or one individual we should not defame such Institutions.Well Leave it !!! It's all up to your Mentality but before judging JNU have a look at these Personalities who were the students of this Prestigious University and now working for mankind and well known Nationally and Internationally.
1. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar - Minister of External Affairs
S Jaishankar was born in New Delhi, India to prominent Indian strategic affairs analyst, commentator, and civil servant K. Subrahmanyam and Sulochana.
He is the brother of historian Sanjay Subrahmanyam and S. Vijay Kumar, former Rural Development Secretary of India.
He did his schooling from Cambridge School Srinivaspuri and is a graduate of St. Stephen's College at the University of Delhi.
He has an MA in Political Science and an M.Phil. and Ph.D. in International Relations from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), where he specialized in nuclear diplomacy.
2. Abhijit Banerjee - Nobel Prize Winner
Banerjee was born to a Bengali Marathi Hindu family in Bombay,Maharashtra,India.His father, Dipak Banerjee, was a Bengali Indian professor of economics at Presidency College, Calcutta, and his mother Nirmala Banerjee, a Marathi Indian professor of economics at the Centre for Studies in Social Sciences, Calcutta.
He received his school education in South Point High School, a renowned educational institution in Calcutta. After his schooling, he took admission at Presidency College, then an affiliated college of the University of Calcutta where he completed his BSc(H) degree in economics in 1981. Later, he completed his M.A. in economics at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Delhi in 1983.
3. Nirmala Sitharaman - Finance Minister of India
Sitharaman joined the BJP in 2006 and was appointed as a spokesperson for the party in 2010.
In May 2016, she was one of the 12 candidates nominated by the BJP to contest the Rajya Sabha elections due on 11 June 2016. She successfully contested her seat from Karnataka.
Nirmala Sitharaman was born in a Tamil family in Madurai, Tamil Nadu, to Savitri and Narayanan Sitharaman. She had her schooling from Madras and Tiruchirappalli.She obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics at the Seethalakshmi Ramaswami College, Tiruchirapalli in 1980, Master of Arts degree in economics and M.Phil. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi in 1984.
4. Harun Rashid Khan - Deputy Governor of RBI
Also known as H R Khan, was a Deputy Governor of Reserve Bank of India for a five-year term between 2011 and 2016 Considered approachable and open to reasoning Khan has made contribution to internal debt management, external investment and exchange control. He was appointed as Deputy Governor in July 2011.He has also been an Executive Director of RBI and Director of NABARD.
H R Khan had his early schooling at Badagada Highschool in Bhubaneswar. He was a brilliant student.
Khan obtained his Master's degree in Political Science from Utkal University. Later he obtained Master of Philosophy degree from the School of International Studies of Jawaharlal Nehru University.
5. Amitabh Kant - CEO of NITI Ayog
Amitabh Kant was born on 1 March 1956. He first studied at Modern School, Delhi. He graduated with a degree in Economics (Hons.) from St. Stephen's College, Delhi and earned an M.A from Jawaharlal Nehru University.
He attended Manchester Business School on a chevening Scholarship.
Later, he attended the Mid-career Program at Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government, and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.
Amitabh Kant is married to Ranjeeta Kant; they have two daughters Vedica and Vanshica.
